CRAS in the pool



Demolition in areas with a high population density is one of the situations in which the characteristics of CRAS, the demolishing cement produced by the Basque company Kayati SL, allow to achieve quick, safe and effective results.



We see in this report how CRAS has been used to demolish a large stone inside a hotel, in the pool area. The use of explosives was totally out of place in this environment, as was the use of heavy machinery. It is the CRAS field.




The way of carrying out the demolition with the expansive cement is done in total safety during a period of maintenance of the hotel installations. The process begins with drilling with manual machinery, according to a distribution of perforations that allows to design in advance how the break will occur and where the debris, to be removed after the operation, will be generated. Kayati's experience of nearly thirty years in demolitions using CRAS is offered to the contractors of these works.



In the images you can see how the rock breakage happens, silently, with no vibrations affecting the environment. In this case, the absence of vibrations is especially appreciated, because the basin of the pool adjacent to the demolition area has not been affected throughout the process.



The mosaics around the pool were not affected either. In just over twenty-four hours, with the rock breaking already made, it was possible to remove the debris from it.


Once this last task had been carried out, no one could have said that, a few hours before, a rock had been demolished in that area.

Making room in the basement

 Making room in basements is one of the secret wishes for more homeowners. Although sometimes they unsuitable areas, due to the existence of humidity, a basement can allow to gain a very useful volume as a cellar or warehouse

The photos shown in this report have been taken in the works to expand the basement in a cottage, an indoor domestic demolition, one of the CRAS specialties, the demolition cement manufactured by the Basque firm Kayati SL.

Indoor demolitions cannot be carried out using explosives or heavy machinery. These are projects that must be carried out without generating vibrations that could damage the structure of the house and those of neighboring buildings.

Once the drilling of the area to be removed has been carried out - in this case, a rock in the basement floor of a rural house - the next operation is to load the holes with the mortar made with CRAS.

The expansive force generated from the hydration reaction that occurs in the mortar  causes that, after a few hours, cracks begin to appear in the rock, which is gradually demolished and, after 48 hours, reduced to small fragments that can be removed without difficulty.

The images show the break between the perforations, whose dimensions -diameter, depth and distribution- are defined according to the type of rock to be demolished and the environment in which the demolition is executed. The experience that Kayati SL makes available to its clients enables demolitions to be carried out efficiently, optimizing the use of CRAS and the total cost of demolition.




In short, when it comes to carrying out demolitions inside buildings, the use of CRAS demolition cement is the cleaner, faster, safer and more efficient alternative from an economic point of view, something that Kayati SL clients value very positively.

Making room for a lift

These pictures show how CRAS, demolition cement manufactured in Spain by Kayati SL, is used as a demolition mortar to remove 8 sqm of granite.

 This demolition project is a phase of a larger project, the renewal of a lift.
 Demolition has been done in two layers, to get the 2 meters deep.
 At the end of the demolition work, there was space for concrete and for the rest of the lift installation.

Precision demolition with CRAS
