CRAS in the pool



Demolition in areas with a high population density is one of the situations in which the characteristics of CRAS, the demolishing cement produced by the Basque company Kayati SL, allow to achieve quick, safe and effective results.



We see in this report how CRAS has been used to demolish a large stone inside a hotel, in the pool area. The use of explosives was totally out of place in this environment, as was the use of heavy machinery. It is the CRAS field.




The way of carrying out the demolition with the expansive cement is done in total safety during a period of maintenance of the hotel installations. The process begins with drilling with manual machinery, according to a distribution of perforations that allows to design in advance how the break will occur and where the debris, to be removed after the operation, will be generated. Kayati's experience of nearly thirty years in demolitions using CRAS is offered to the contractors of these works.



In the images you can see how the rock breakage happens, silently, with no vibrations affecting the environment. In this case, the absence of vibrations is especially appreciated, because the basin of the pool adjacent to the demolition area has not been affected throughout the process.



The mosaics around the pool were not affected either. In just over twenty-four hours, with the rock breaking already made, it was possible to remove the debris from it.


Once this last task had been carried out, no one could have said that, a few hours before, a rock had been demolished in that area.

Gaining space to the mountain


The economy of mountain areas is a story of love and hate with the orography. The same mountains that generate wealth are scant when it comes to giving up space for human implantation. Building in the highlands has its particularities, one of which is that, sometimes, you have to create the space to build. The clearings and embankments are common in the construction of buildings as well as infrastructure. And CRAS, the non-explosive demolition cement manufactured by the Spanish firm Kayati SL, is an ally in the fight for space in mountainous terrain.


The images included in this note shows a clearing carried out in a hilly area. The goal of this demolition project was to steal square meters from the mountain, to allow road improvement and the building of a house.

The use of CRAS in this project allows its viability. Being a demolition work carried out in an inhabited area, the use of explosives was totally forbidden for security reasons. CRAS performs the demolition by expansion, without blasts, noise or annoying vibrations. In some cases it is the only possible way for demolition.

The demolition was performed not only safely, but also quickly and economically, two other virtues of the cement created by Kayati SL. In the images can be seen the marks of the perforations carried out to allow the pouring of the mortar kneaded with CRAS and water.


In addition to giving a solution to the major problem of clearing, CRAS was useful to perform some minor demolitions, such as the rock seen in the image on the right, that was an obstacle to the works in the place where they were carried out the emptying. 

The CRAS ease of use, without the need of special permits for demolishing works, guaranteed the success of this demolition project.

The final result was a new small victory in the eternal war between the humans and the mountains. A fair battle in this case, given the environmentally friendly features of CRAS.

High performance in the toughest test


CRAS is there to help demolition managers even in their most challenging projects. We can see in these pictures the result of CRAS use to crack a hard rock. Before using CRAS, demolition managers tried to break the stone blocks by using mechanical methods, with no results.

Amazingly,  CRAS broke the rock in less than 24 hours.
 And, more amazingly, the second rock to be broken was demolished with only half of the CRAS, in the same time.

At the end of the demolition works, project managers were really satisfied with such a performant product.

CRAS in the enlargement of a school

CRAS was used as a demolition agent in a project to enlarge a school, in a mountain area.
Undergroud water in the works recommended the encapsulation of mortar, to get the most of the expansive strength or CRAS.


Two varieties of CRAS -Blue and Green- were used in this work, for different drilling diameter.
Demolition works were properly finished on time.

Precision demolition with CRAS

CRAS, the non-explosive demolition mortar manufactured by the Spanish firm Kayati SL can be used for projects where materials to be demolished are near to key component that cannot be damaged by demolition. Pictures in this blog entry show a demolition work performed in a glass-manufacturing furnace, where fireproof material is cracked with no damage for the furnace structure.

Demolition in Central America with CRAS

High temperatures do not void CRAS demolishing properties. These pictures have been taken on a demolition work in Central America. Temperature was over 30ยบ Celsius during the whole demolition.








The rock was cut as it it was butter. Demolition began just six hours after pouring the CRAS.
